About the movie / Situation
The Badgers is a Norwegian family adventure-comedy following 11-year-old Bernt, an orphan on a mission to become a Scout like his late father. The film premiered at the 2025 Norwegian International Film Festival in Haugesund, opening the Cinemagi family program. Ahead of its theatrical release, the marketing team needed a digital content strategy tailored to family audiences and school-age children, with the goal of boosting awareness and encouraging in-cinema attendance.
Task
As Content Manager, my task was to plan and produce a suite of engaging short-form video assets for digital platforms — designed to capture the attention of parents and children, highlight the emotional and comedic strengths of the film, and drive interest in theatrical screenings across Norway.
Status
Release planned for autumn 2025
ACTION
✅ Selected emotionally rich and visually dynamic moments from the film — focusing on funny, heartwarming, and high-energy scenes that highlight the central themes of friendship, belonging, bravery, and personal growth. These moments were chosen not only for their appeal to kids, but also to resonate emotionally with parents.
✅ Edited all content for maximum performance and platform-native behavior:
— Opened every clip with an immediate visual or emotional hook to stop the scroll
— Ensured optimal formatting for each platform, including vertical framing for TikTok and Reels, proper cropping, caption overlays, and attention to audio clarity and visual quality
— Maintained tight pacing to hold attention and ensure every second delivered value, avoiding clutter or slow build-ups
✅ Branded each asset consistently by keeping the film title visible throughout — either as an overlay or integrated into the visual design — helping to boost title recognition and associating every piece of content with the film’s identity.
✅ Avoided spoilers while crafting each clip to feel narrative and complete on its own — giving viewers an emotional payoff and teasing the full story without revealing too much.
✅ Balanced tone and messaging to appeal to both children and their parents: scenes with playful humor and adventure were paired with emotionally grounded messaging to communicate depth and family values, ensuring the campaign was engaging for all generations.
RESULT
📢 With the campaign set to launch in the upcoming autumn, the full content package is ready for rollout — optimized for performance across digital platforms. It’s designed to:
👉🏻 Build anticipation and recognizability around the film
👉🏻 Inspire families to attend screenings together
👉🏻 Spark strong platform engagement through content that is fun, emotional, and easy to share
Campaign results will be actively tracked post-launch, focusing on key KPIs: awareness, engagement, and traffic to cinema ticketing platforms.
