About the movie / Situation

Fucking Village is an emotionally layered dramedy about Mariam, who returns to her rural hometown for the second burial of her father — confronting old tensions, relationships, and unresolved grief. After its award-winning festival run, the film needed a digital campaign to activate a youth-centered, rural-urban audience and turn festival buzz into theatrical attendance across Norway.

Task

I was responsible for creating and executing a content-led digital marketing campaign to promote the film’s theatrical release nationally. Since ticket sales were handled across decentralized cinema sites and offline channels, our key measurable goal was to drive qualified traffic (link clicks) to the film’s FilmWeb page, where audiences could check local screenings and purchase tickets.

ACTION

✅ Created short-form video and visual content highlighting the film’s emotional tone shifts — mixing deadpan humor, tense family dynamics, and relatable rural moments. I selected scenes that reflected the generational conflict and identity struggles at the heart of the film

✅ Designed edgy, emotionally resonant creative with bold copywriting and visual hooks that appealed to teens and young adults — especially those with rural roots or conflicted hometown feelings

✅ Executed a targeted digital ad strategy across [insert platforms used — e.g., Meta, TikTok], focusing on reaching 15–30-year-olds through interest-based and demographic segmentation

✅ Built a three-phase campaign structure (Awareness → Engagement → Traffic), optimized weekly based on creative performance and audience response

✅ Maintained consistency in visual tone and voice, ensuring all campaign elements reflected the film’s raw, unapologetic humor and personal themes
